Japanese traditional culture: tea ceremony

Today’s topic is Japanese traditional culture, Sado.

At first, do you know what Sado is?

Sado is an act to present someone with a cup of tea and sweets, what is called “Wagashi”. It is not just drinking tea, but traditional culture. And it developed with religion, a way of thinking and art.

As we introduced above, Sado is strongly connected to different kinds of Japanese culture. For example, tea-ceremony house, tea-ceremony dishes and Japanese cake, wagashi.

Kyoto is pretty famous place for enjoying Japanese tea.

We would introduce Japanese traditional culture in detail next time.
