Yuru-chara is a Japanese term for a category of mascot characters; usually created to promote a place or region, event, organisation or business.

As you may know, Japanese really like character goods. For example, “Hello Kitty”, “Minnie Mouse”, “Duffy” etc…

Some area in Japan held the contest called “Yuru-chara grand prix”. And many character goods are sold all over Japan. If you have time while staying Japan, please visit the place to see them!!
